Diocese of Providence    The Diocese of Providence is pleased to learn that the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed Father James Ruggieri, a priest of the Diocese of Providence, as Bishop of Portland, Maine. Most Rev. Richard G. Henning, Bishop of Providence, reflects on Bishop-Elect Ruggieri’s appointment saying, “In my brief time in Providence, I have come to appreciate and admire Father Ruggieri’s personal humility, authenticity, and remarkably fruitful priestly ministry. That ministry has wide-reaching effects upon the people and clergy of this diocese. For these reasons, among others, I see the wisdom of the Holy Father’s choice even as I feel the pang of the loss to us.…

Martin Luther King Day, 2024 For over 15 years, The Friends of Friars Men’s Alumni Basketball Team, donated their time to help those in need at Maryhouse/St Patrick’s Soup Kitchen. This amazing group, purchased the dinner food, cooked, help serve and clean up. Words alone cannot thank each and everyone of you enough. God will Bless you every day for your acts of kindness. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, The Maryhouse/St Partick’s volunteers and Father James.    

Starting in October, our new hours at the Food Panty are: The 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of each month from: 4:00pm-6:00pm The 2nd and 3rd Thursday of each month from: 9:00am-11:30am Our new location is the converted garage attached to St Patrick’s School, (right side of building) next to the elevator door. Clients must be registered or be a registered parishioner of St Patrick’s. A photo ID must be shown. For new clients, you must live in the area, or be a registered parishioner of St Patrick’s, show proof of residence, and have a photo ID.

Thank you to all our cooks and all that served on Christmas Day. Our guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, gifts, and the joy of Christmas all because of your kindness. May God bless you in the year 2022.
